Three important points at stake for RSC Anderlecht in the Freethiel stadium this Saturday night. After the crushing victory over KAS Eupen last week (6-1) another victory was needed to keep the Play Off 1 rally alive. RSCA made one change from the team deployed against the Panda’s on Sunday: Jeremy Doku returned to the Starting XI at the expense of Francis Amuzu. Jamaican defender Kemar Lawrence was deemed fit enough for his first place on the bench, since he joined the club a few weeks ago.
After 8 minutes of play the deadlock was already broken. RSCA went ahead as Michel Vlap turned the ball into the net on his first attempt. The assist was provided by Jeremy Doku. The Dutch playmaker doubled the lead halfway through the second half after a good combination into the box with Albert Sambi Lokonga. A last-minute spot-kick from Francis Amuzu added further to the scoreline: RSCA beat Waasland-Beveren 0-3!
Goals: 9’ Vlap (0-1), 66’ Vlap (0-2) & 90+4’ Amuzu (0-3, pen)
