Lotto Park’s renewed pitch will be tested against Club Brugge

After the last home game of 2024 against Dender, the work on the pitch at Lotto Park began. At the end of this season, a complete renovation of the pitch will take place, including work on the subsoil.

On December 28, the preparatory works started, with the removal of the current grass and the installation of a new sand base. In total, nearly 400 tons of sand were delivered, on which the new turf has been laid since Monday.

This new turf was supplied by a Swiss company from Turin (Italy) and will be meticulously installed in the coming days. After that, the drainage system will be reinstalled, and the grass will be aesthetically completed. The match against Club Brugge will be the first test for the new turf.

The renovation during the winter break is a temporary solution to finish the season under optimal conditions. After the season, work will begin on the installation of a completely new pitch, including the replacement of the entire subsoil. The total cost of the works is over 1.3 million euros.
