On Thursday evening, RSC Anderlecht received KAA Gent at the Lotto Park for a catch-up game in the context of the fifth matchday of the Jupiler Pro League. Sporting lost 0-1 after a penalty awarded in the second half. This Sunday, the players of coach Felice Mazzù will receive Oud-Heverlee Leuven at the Lotto Park.
Gent was immediately dangerous and after a quick counter attack Hyun-Seok Hong fired a low shot. Hendrik Van Crombrugge had to stretch, Hannes Delcroix cleared the ball. Anderlecht answered quickly with a corner. A header from Delcroix hit the post. Only after half an hour, Sporting was dangerous again with a shot by Amir Murillo. Moments later a nice shot by Sven Kums ended up on the crossbar. Andrew Hjulasger got the ball on his back in the rebound and the ball ended up in Depoitre's hands, who could score via the crossbar. Andrew Hjulasger was flagged for offside and the score was 0-0 at the break.
KAA Gent threatened immediately after the break. A shot by Sven Kums was blocked, but the ball landed at the feet of Andrew Hjulsager. His deviated shot was saved by Van Crombrugge. Lior Refaelov then tried to lob Davy Roef with a clever move, but unfortunately he missed the target. In the end it was the visitors who opened the score from the penalty spot through Hugo Cuypers, after Francis Amuzu had fouled Hyun-Seok Hong. Fábio Silva came close to scoring the equalizer. However, there was no more goal, RSCA loses for the second time in a row in the Jupiler Pro League.
