On Fridays, our head coach traditionally addresses the press. Before the game against Charleroi, Vincent Kompany took a seat in the press room of the Lotto Park for an analysis.
"It was an intense week", he said. "We all worked a lot of hours with great intensity. After the match against KV Kortrijk, we had a group discussion. That’s certainly not the first time : I think it is important to set clear expectations for everyone. We are always critical of each other, but we trust and support each other. You can only deserve this support by working hard and asking objective analyses."
The recent results have put everyone a little on edge, our coach is well aware of that too. "But the season is still long and it can still go either way. If it wasn't for those three games where we got a red card, we would probably have six more points. We mustn't let emotions get the better of us. The group reacted strongly this week, but the most important reaction will obviously have to come on the pitch in Charleroi."
