RSC Anderlecht travelled to the Venice of the North on Sunday afternoon to take on Cercle Brugge on Matchday 14 of the Jupiler Pro League. David Hubert's team deservedly took all three points from the long trip thanks to goals from Kasper Dolberg (hat-trick), Théo Leoni and Luis Vázquez. Important 6/6 just before the start of the international break.
The game got off to a lively start with plenty of duels. The first chances fell to the home side, with Gary Magnée's acrobatic effort into the side-netting and Lawrence Agyekum's shot, which Colin Coosemans saved well. Anderlecht hit back after twenty minutes: the first opportunity landed directly in the net. Samuel Edozie was set up by Mario Stroeykens and crossed perfectly for Kasper Dolberg. Cercle had two more clear-cut chances on the half-hour mark. Thibo Somers headed just wide and Alan Minda's shot was well blocked by Colin Coosemans. Samuel Edozie's fine shot hit the post just before half-time and the score was 0-1.
The second half kicked off with a chance for Cercle Brugge, but Colin Coosemans denied Felipe Augusto's attempt. Around the hour mark, a shot from Samuel Edozie was blocked by the home defense, prompting VAR to review a handball incident. Kasper Dolberg calmly converted the penalty to make it 0-2. Both coaches then made several substitutions, including the injured Edozie. With 15 minutes left, substitute Theo Leoni added a third with a well-placed right-footed shot after a rebounded corner. Kasper Dolberg netted his hat-trick from a Francis Amuzu cross. The hosts were also reduced to 10 men when Ibrahim Diakité fouled Mario Stroeykens. Late in the game, Luis Vázquez sealed the 0-5 victory thanks to another assist from Amuzu. Six points from two matches right before the international break.
