Saturday (20:45), the troops of Vincent Kompany travel to Den Dreef for the 29th matchday of the Jupiler Pro League. The coach looks ahead to the game against OHL.
"It's true that we haven't managed to win against OHL in the past few games. But I always try to think of the upside of these kind of negative series. I assume that the win will follow shortly, preferably tomorrow. The games against Leuven have always been spectacular with some particular incidents so they were all quite different from eachother."
Vincent Kompany also insisted on the importance of playing as a whole, with ambition. "We have a squad full of players that show week in week out that they can play. But unfortunately, I can't line up everyone. So it comes down to reading the energy levels of the players well. Also, the players that come off the bench have the power to change the dynamics of the game. It's important to look at the whole squad and not just the individual."
Asked about the table, the coach radiates ambition. "I always look up. If you're looking over your shoulder, you're encouraging fear and doubt. When you're looking up, you're trying to get better everyday. We're always working on the details, always wanting more. That ambition is important."
