RSCA and Club Brugge have reached an agreement on the permanent transfer of Mats Rits (30). The midfielder has signed a three-season deal at the Lotto Park.
Mats Rits signed his first professional contract at Germinal Beerschot. The Antwerp native made the switch to Ajax after two seasons. Due to injuries, he did not experience a breakthrough in the first team in Amsterdam. After his move to KV Mechelen in 2013, Mats immediately emergd as a stronghold in midfield. After more than five seasons at KV Mechelen, he made the switch to Club Brugge in 2018.
CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg:
“Mats Rits is a valuable player that knows the league, has a lot of experience and bring leadership to the squad. Apart from being a dynamic central midfielder, he has a good personality and is a good communicator.”
Mats Rits:
"I am signing here today with a very good feeling and with a lot of desire to contribute something to the team. It was an easy choice for me and the right moment to opt for this project. I immediately felt a lot of confidence from my talks with the management of RSC Anderlecht and I strongly believe in the clear vision of the club management."
