The final episode of the fourth season of the documentary series on RSC Anderlecht follows our captain closely.
RSC Anderlecht is fighting for the championship until the last matchday this season. While the hearts of the purple-white supporters beat faster with every match, captain Jan Vertonghen has to deal with an injury that keeps him sidelined for the decisive games of the play-offs.
The news of his injury is the opening scene of the final episode of the fourth season of MAUVE. This extra-long episode of the documentary series, which has followed RSC Anderlecht closely for four seasons now, offers a unique insight into the season's outcome through the eyes of Jan Vertonghen. The Belgian record international is in his second season at Anderlecht and enjoys the good atmosphere in the dressing room. A dressing room in which he makes his mark as captain: he takes the young players under his wing, keeps the team in check even after his injury and hands out the Neerpede Cup to the cycling fans within the player group.
But at the same time, Jan is also personally facing one of the most difficult decisions of his career. The defender is out of contract after this season and is thinking aloud about a possible end to his impressive career. This episode not only gets into the head, but also into the heart of our captain and follows him in his talks with CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg, his manager Tom De Mul and gives a unique insight into the Belgian record international's decision-making process. For now, he keeps his cards close to his chest, but in the meantime, here is the latest episode of MAUVE.
