RSC Anderlecht’s campaign to finish in the Jupiler Pro League’s top six suffered a setback on Saturday night, with a 2-0 defeat to KV Mechelen. Sporting made six changes to the starting XI: Vincent Kompany, Elias Cobbaut and Dejan Joveljic replaced Marco Kana, Killian Sardella and Antoine Colassin.
In spite of a good first half, RSCA lost the game. Jeremy Doku was sent off with a second yellow card after 44 minutes. After the interval, Geoffry Hairemans unleashed a hard low shot to open the scoring in the 48th minute. Aster Vranckx doubled that lead later on in the 72nd minute.
