RSC Anderlecht welcomes Ludwig Augustinsson (29). The experienced Swedish international from Sevilla FC will play at the Lotto Park on a season-long loan deal.
Ludwig started his football career at Sweden's IF Brommapojkarna before making the switch to FC Copenhagen in 2015. In the Danish capital, he became champion two years in a row and also added three consecutive cups to his trophy cabinet. After that, Ludwig moved to Werder Bremen for four seasons and played 100 games in the Bundesliga. He made the switch to Spanish side Sevilla FC in the summer of 2022. After 26 games in his first season in Spain, the Swede was loaned out to Aston Villa and RCD Mallorca.
Apart from his experiences at the highest level in leagues like the Bundesliga, the Superligaen, La Liga and the Premier League, Ludwig also played in the Champions League and Europa League. An experienced international, he has 51 caps to his name for Sweden and played at the Euros in 2020 and at the 2018 World Cup.
CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg:
“Ludwig is an experienced full back that has played in nearly all the big leagues. His addition to the squad will increase the competition. He’s ready to have a direct impact on the pitch, but he’ll also put his experience to good use off the pitch by guiding some of our young talents like Moussa N’Diaye.”
