Ludwig Augustinsson is extending his stay at RSCA. The Swedish international played on loan at purple and white last season. Now, he joins Sporting from Sevilla FC on a permanent basis. The left-back has signed a contract until 2027.
Last season, Augustinsson immediately established himself as a regular at left-back. With his experience as a Swedish international and at clubs like Sevilla FC, FC Copenhagen and Werder Bremen, the 30-year-old Augustinsson was a key player in the purple-and-white defence. In 32 matches, he also delivered four assists.
Ludwig Augustinsson will wear shirt number 6 for the next three seasons.
CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg:
“Bringing in Ludwig on a 3-year deal, is a good way to keep building on the team that was already in place last season. Ludwig has already shown us his experience and his top mentality. After the season, we immediately sensed that Ludwig had a strong desire to come back. We have unfinished business together, so it’s great to have him back on board with us. By bringing Ludwig and Thomas Foket in, we’re strengthening the full-back positions and we’re creating a good balance in terms of profiles.”
Ludwig Augustinsson:
“It’s simple: this feels like being home again. Last year, every day at the club was like being part of a family. Together with the fans, we’ve created something last year that I want to continue to be a part of, because I have this feeling that the best is yet to come.”
