Nathan De Cat (16) has signed a contract extension that ties the young midfielder to the club until 2027. The talented midfielder will from now on train with the first team.
Nathan is a particularly promising defensive midfielder who can also perform at centre-back. With his excellent vista, passing and composure on the ball, he has always stood out in the youth ranks at Neerpede.
Nathan has been part of our youth academy since the age of 10. The Belgian youth international signed his first contract with purple and white in 2023 until 2025. His current extension adds 2 more years to his contract.
Nathan had a first taste of professional football last season. He joined our RSCA Futures in the second half of the season, playing 10 games in the Challenger Pro League. In the preparation for the new season, Nathan also took his first steps with the first team: the midfielder travelled to Portugal for summer camp and also came into action in some friendly games.
Nathan De Cat: “Both me and my family are very happy with this contract extension. It’s the best choice for me to continue my development at RSC Anderlecht. I’ve already learned a lot from my first experiences with the first team. My dream would be to make my debut this season with the first team at the Lotto Park.”
CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg: “We’ve been really impressed by Nathan’s fast development, also during our summer camp ahead of the new season. He’s a very intelligent player. We want to give him the opportunity to train with the first team, to make him get used to a higher level and to develop even more physically. We share his dream: hopefully he can make his debut for the first team this season, while still getting a lot of playing time with our RSCA Futures."
