This Wednesday afternoon, coach Vincent Kompany prefaced this Thursday evening's game against Ghent at the Lotto Park.
The game against Ghent was postponed at the fifth matchday. "This match comes at a better time for both teams. For us, but also for Ghent. The Buffalos have built a team with quality and experience, but they have to perform in the short term. They are also still struggling a bit in terms of results, yet they regularly show that they have a good team with experience."
"Their style of play is based on clear principles. It is often more complicated to prepare for a game against a team that changes systems a lot. They have a large squad with different player profiles, but they are quite consistent in the way they play. So we are preparing to play against a team that could play at their best level. It is up to us to exploit their weaknesses and be aware of their strengths. But the most important thing is that we concentrate on our own principles."
"For various reasons, Ghent have been unlucky to score less than they should, even though they create many chances in every game," our coach continued. "The points total is what it is, but we are not yet at a point in the season where the points are decisive. Gent is simply one of the strongest teams in Belgium. But for our fans and for ourselves, we will do everything we can to win."
