Last week we asked all Sporting fans on our social media channels to choose their Player of the Season from each of our teams. The votes have now been counted and these are the results:
A-Team Player of the Season
For our first team it was Anders Dreyer who came out on top with 28% of the votes. Just ahead of captain Jan Vertonghen (22%), and with Zeno Debast (18%) also on the podium. Théo Leoni (15%) finished in fourth place. With 21 goals and 9 assists in all competitions, the Danish midfielder has often made the difference throughout the season.
Female Player of the Season
In the RSCA Women it was Tine De Caigny who won the most votes. Even though she often played in the center of defense, in a position she was not used to, she still showed her class. And that was noticed. With 24% of the votes, Tine De Caigny was well ahead of Sarah Wijnants (13%), Laura De Neve (12%) and Lore Jacobs (10%).
Young Player of the Season
For his performances in the Challenger Pro League, Tristan Degreef was voted best RSCA Futures player by our supporters. His excellent form has earned him several selections for the A-team. He also made his debut for the first team this season and was able to enjoy playing minutes in the Lotto Park. Numbers two and three in the voting were Amando Lapage (16%) and Nilson Angulo (15%).
Futsal Player of the Season
Gabriel 'Grello' d'Angelo was named winner of the Futsal League's Golden Boot for the sixth time in a row. He was therefore logically voted by the fans as the Futsal Player of the Season with 17% of the votes. Afterwards, the votes were very evenly distributed, with Tom Cardoen (9%), Steven Dillien (8%) and Dragan Tomic (7%) completing the top four.
