RSC Anderlecht wants to draw attention to the consequences of certain chants.
In good and bad times: Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht can always count on its enthusiastic and loyal fans. Also in the past few weeks, the fans stood behind the team as one. The club insists on explicitly thanking our fans for that.
Nevertheless, the club must also draw attention to the consequences of discriminatory chants, especially the one linked to Benito Raman and Club Brugge. Both the player and our club would like to call on supporters to refrain from such chants. In the first place, these chants conflict with the norms and values of RSC Anderlecht. We strive to make the Lotto Park a place where everybody can feel welcome. Offensive messages therefore have no place in our stadium.
In addition, we would like to remind you that this song is disciplinary sanctioned as a discriminatory chant. RSC Anderlecht has previously been sanctioned and fined for this. Further repetitions may even lead to games being played behind closed doors.
Therefore, we would like to call on all clubs and supporters to abandon the specific song and to opt for a non-offensive alternative. A message that the player also transmitted earlier in this video.
Furthermore, the club can also be sanctioned for chants that verbally abuse the referee or the visiting goalkeeper. In this case too, the club urges all supporters to refrain from such chants.
And now: on to the important games against Zulte Waregem and the Clásico against Standard. Come on you Mauves.
