Performance Director Damian Roden will continue to work with RSCA on a regular, non-exclusive basis.
The Welshman with experience in the Premier League and the MLS was tasked with reforming the Performance department. Damian will continue to consult RSCA and the Performance department.
“I haven’t had the opportunity to come to Neerpede since January because of the strict covid regulations, as I would have to do quarantaines in both directions every time. This makes it near impossible to travel back and forth to my family in Britain. Therefore the club and I have setup a framework to continuously analyse the team’s workload and training cycles.
I will act as a sounding board for the performance staff, and we will continue our good work. I want to thank Peter and Vincent for their open attitude to my way of working. I am pleased to continue this ambitious project and push this beautiful club forward”, comments Damian Roden.
Peter Verbeke, Sports Director of RSCA adds: “Damian has really helped to develop a professional performance structure as regards physical load, medical follow-up and nutritional advice. Damian has developed the skills of younger but high potential staff members like Bram Geers (Head of Physical Coaching) and Niels Mathieu (Head of Physiotherapy) and he will continue to do so.”
