Against OH Leuven, midfielder Yari Verschaeren had to leave the pitch only 8 minutes into the game after an unfortunate twist of the left knee. The scans on Monday delivered a severe verdict: an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament. Yari has to undergo surgery and will be sidelined until at least the end of the year.
Coach Brian Riemer:
“Yari has been one of our stand-out players this season and he has played a crucial part in the positive evolution that this team has demonstrated in recent months. His injury is obviously a big loss for the team, but more importantly we feel for Yari that won’t be with us in the coming months. He’s such an important part of the Anderlecht-family. One thing is for sure: we’ll do everything in our power to make sure that we get Yari back to his best in 2024.”
The entire club wishes Yari a good recovery.
Come back stronger, Yari.
