RSC Anderlecht confirms David Hubert as head coach

The club’s management has decided to appoint David Hubert as head coach of the first team. With David Hubert, Anderlecht appoints a young and modern head coach that embodies the DNA of the club.

David Hubert succeeded Brian Riemer as a caretaker three weeks ago, with a clear mission: to guide Anderlecht through a busy period with three league games and the first two matches in the renewed Europa League. David Hubert led RSCA to two draws and a win in the Jupiler Pro League and managed to win both games in the Europa League.

Over the past few weeks, the club's sporting management held talks with a number of possible coaches. A thorough evaluation was made after the last game against Standard Liege. The conclusion of that process is now clear: RSC Anderlecht fully endorses and establishes David Hubert as head coach of the first team.

CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg:

“The past few weeks, we've seen positive signs and a new dynamic within the first team. That's why we want to give David the opportunity to continue his work. David is a young coach who has risen to the opportunity. It also fits our philosophy to embrace that and to work with talented, modern coaches. He has our full confidence and we're looking forward to a season where it's still all to play for, both in the league, the Cup and the Europa League.”

David Hubert:

“I am truly honoured and proud by this show of confidence from the club. Above all, I’m very very happy that we can continue on the positive momentum of recent weeks. I am only focused on one thing: I want to see progression from day to day, week to week, month to month. That has always been my approach and the belief is there that together we are capable of great things.”
