On Sunday afternoon, the Mauves travelled to the Jan Breydel stadium to take on Cercle in the sixth matchday of the Champions' Play-offs. Kasper Schmeichel and Anders Dreyer were still recovering from injuries sustained in the first match against Cercle during the week. Yari Verschaeren was not yet ready either. Colin Coosemans came into the starting line-up for the first time after coming on as a substitute on Wednesday. Luis Vázquez replaced Anders Dreyer in the starting eleven. Despite a good final rush, Sporting were unable to claim all three points.
