After Art Nouveau was born in Brussels, the art movement spread across Europe in the early 1900s. The third Joma shirt, which RSCA will wear for their Europa League matches, celebrates Brussels as the European capital of Art Nouveau, just like the home and away shirts.
Art Nouveau
Brussels is the cradle of Art Nouveau. Architects like Victor Horta and Henry van de Velde reshaped the face of our capital around the founding year of RSC Anderlecht with their innovative and playful style. Art Nouveau was a pursuit of freedom and creativity, characterized by graceful ornaments and floral patterns. Fans have already recognized these patterns on our home and away shirts.
Brussels, Belgium & Beyond
In the early 1900s, Art Nouveau spread from Brussels across Europe, with its influences still found today in cities like Prague, San Sebastian, Riga, and Plzen. RSC Anderlecht will visit these cities during its Europa League campaign, wearing a new third Joma shirt. A new ode to Art Nouveau.
RSCA Third
This season’s third shirt is teal green and once again features a subtle floral pattern in the fabric. On the chest you find a modest crown with three stars, referring to the club's history.
The lettering on the back of the shirt is a again the unique reworking of a lost Brussels-Belgian typeface. You can read more about that here.
The European warm-up shirt for this season also celebrates Art Nouveau. This warm-up shirt is golden, a nod to our European successes.
Art Nouveau Reimagined
With the use of artificial intelligence, the launch campaign for the new shirts explores the emerging art forms of today. In the campaign, where past and present meet, the latest generative technology was used to visualize a world that amazes and inspires dreams. Jan Vertonghen and Kasper Dolberg were digitally recreated using artificial intelligence in a fictional football universe—a world inspired by Art Nouveau, reinterpreted with today’s technology.
