Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht will start the 2023-2024 season with a renewed technical staff. Previously, Dries Bloemen (performance coach) and Ian Burchnall (assistant coach) were already added to head coach Brian Riemer's staff. A new goalkeeper coach will also be announced soon, after Javier Melchor was prevented from joining RSCA due to a serious family event.
The club can confirm that assistant coach Robin Veldman will leave the club. Robin joined us from Ajax's academy in the summer of 2021 to coach the U21’s. In the first half of this season, he coached the U21’s (RSCA Futures) in their first year in professional football in Belgium’s second division. Robin also briefly took charge of the first team in October 2022 as interim coach. When Brian Riemer was appointed head coach, Robin became assistant coach of the first team.
CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg:
"The club has been moving in a new direction since January. Such a process sometimes requires some difficult decisions. After several talks with Robin at the end of this past season, we decided not to continue the cooperation. That does not change the fact that we have always appreciated Robin's commitment, so we wish him all the best for the future."
Robin Veldman:
"I want to thank all fans, colleagues and players for a great period at RSC Anderlecht. Working with the great talents of this club was a privilege and I will always cherish that."
