 Hall of Fame Pro League

On Monday, the Pro League officially inaugurated their Hall of Fame. Initially, 10 legendary players were inducted by Belgian football fans. For RSC Anderlecht, Luc Nilis, Pär Zetterberg and Vincent Kompany adorn the list.

The Pro League celebrates its 50th anniversary with its own Hall of Fame. In this way, the 10 greatest football icons are being immortalised since the Pro League’s inception in 1974. RSC Anderlecht got the opportunity to nominate 6 players from their glorious history to the Pro League Hall of Fame.

The club's choice fell on players from several illustrious periods of the club's history: Robbie  Rensenbrink, Frank Vercauteren, Luc Nilis, Enzo Scifo, Pär Zetterberg & Vincent Kompany. Other legends like Juan Lozano, Marc Degryse, Ludo Coeck, Mbark Boussoufa and many others were added to the impressive list of 57 candidates via other clubs or wildcards of the jury.

From that list, Belgian football fans could cast out their votes online to arrive at a selection of 10 football legends. Of the six purple-and-white nominees, three players were officially inducted into the Pro League Hall of Fame: Luc Nilis, Pär Zetterberg and Vincent Kompany. With these three football legends, Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht is the purveyor of the Pro League Hall of Fame.
