Jonathan Alves joins first team staff

Jonathan Alves

Jonathan Alves (42) joins the staff of RSC Anderlecht’s first team as assistant coach. Jonathan previously served as head coach of the Belgium U19.

Jonathan was born in France but has Portuguese nationality. He began his coaching career in Portugal, where he started as a youth coach after graduating from the University of Porto. Between 2006 and 2013, he began working as assistant coach at clubs such as Madeira, Penafiel and Arouca.

In 2015, he joined the Iranian league. The move to the French league followed afterwards, where he worked under coach Alain Casanova between 2016 and 2019 at clubs such as RC Lens and Toulouse, followed by Swiss side FC Lausanne. 

Since 2022, Jonathan has been working in Belgium. He was assistant coach under Vincent Euvrard at RWDM and Zulte Waregem. Since last summer, Jonathan served as head coach of the Belgium U19. There, he already had some purple and white youth talents under his wings such as Nathan De Cat, Barry Kais, Ludovick Wola-Wetshay, Ismael Baouf, Basile Vroninks and Devon De Corte.
