RSC Anderlecht parts ways with Brian Riemer

Brian Riemer

RSC Anderlecht has ended the collaboration with head coach Brian Riemer. The club wants to express its explicit gratitude to Brian for his commitment over the past 1 year and 9 months at the helm of the first team. However, the club management evaluated the team's performance as insufficient and therefore decided to end the collaboration.

Brian Riemer was appointed head coach of RSCA in December 2022. The Danish coach joined us  from Brentford FC in the Premier League. In his first six months, Brian guided purple-and-white to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League, despite a disappointing final result in the Jupiler Pro League. Last season, the Danish head coach laid new foundations which allowed Sporting to battle for the title until the final matchday. Anderlecht eventually ended up third in the league.

Brian has coached RSC Anderlecht for 76 games. During his tenure, Brian Riemer always showed great dedication to our club. With his positive attitude and work ethic, Brian played an undeniable part in last season's sporting revival. Once again, the club want to expressly thank Brian and wish him only the best for the next chapter in his career.

Pending the appointment of a new head coach, David Hubert will assume the role of interim first-team coach. David ended his active playing career at Anderlecht and, after a season as assistant coach of the U23, was now active as head coach of the U18.
