This Sunday afternoon, both players, parents and staff of our Academy signed up at the Kinepolis for a kick-off event of the year 2024. it proved to be the ideal opportunity to get acquainted with the renewed structure of our Academy.
No less than 500 people accepted the invitation of Academy Director Mikkel Hemmersam, CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg, Head of Football Henk Mariman & Head of Talent and Innovation Peter Verbeke. During an information session lasting more than an hour and a half, the new structure was presented, the plans for the future were explained and the main questions of the parents and players present were answered.
Using various statistics and videos, the importance of our Academy was once again underlined. On average, no less than 7 Neerpede players made the selection of the first team last year, at least 4 players Made in Neerpede were in the starting line-up and a total of 35 youth players made minutes in the Challenger Pro League (RSCA Futures) or the Jupiler Pro League.
The club will always remain true to the fundamental philosophy and crucial role of our Academy. The new structure therefore aims to safeguard and strengthen the leading position of our Academy by bringing in extra shared leadership and expertise. A message that did not fail to impress the crowds in the Kinepolis.
