Matches between RSCA and Standard without visiting fans until at least mid-2025

In the last six years, the Clasico between RSCA and Standard has been interrupted four times.

On 29/11/2017, the Belgian Cup match RSCA - Standard was temporarily interrupted. On 12/04/2019, the play-off match RSCA - Standard was definitively stopped.

On 23/10/2022, the Standard - RSCA league match was once again permanently halted and last Thursday, the RSCA - Standard cup match was temporarily halted.

What should have been one of the highlights of Belgian football has often proved to be a disillusionment for fans in recent years.

Despite elaborate security measures, the Clasico ended in violent clashes and significant material damage. The Clasico, which for the majority of fans is based on a healthy rivalry, has escalated four times in the last six years because of a small group of supporters on both sides.

The two clubs have therefore agreed to a period of reflection.

At least until the end of the 2024-2025 season, no visiting fans will be allowed to attend matches between Standard and RSC Anderlecht.

Both clubs deeply regret this decision and are aware that it will also affect some of the most well-intentioned and loyal supporters, but they want to send a strong signal that violence has no place in and around a football stadium.

This decision has been communicated to the Pro League and the RBFA.
